This is my monumental work during me in senior high school. This work I finished to complete the last assignment in English lesson for the first semester. I excited to talk about “English For Life” because I feel English is very influencing our life. English become important and needed in our life. Can be told, English include in our life in this modern life.
First of all, I am sure we know how useful English in our life. As we know, English is an international language which used by many people around the world. In every countries we can found anybody speak English. It is meaning in this modern life, English very much used.
English is the first language in United Kingdom, United States, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland and the Anglophone Caribbean. Beside that, English also become one of the official language in various state, as in South Africa, Belize, Philippine, Hong Kong, Canada, Nigeria, Singapore, and other state.
In various area, English said in different patois. Unequal between an area with other area. For example, patois of English in United Kingdom with patois of English in United States. Sometimes, that different patois can make misunderstanding. English in many countries like in England and America sometimes have difference in many vocabulary.
In the world, English is second language which studied. English can disseminated because its political influence and British imperialism at the past moment.

The Advantages of English in Our Life
In this globalization era, all state execute study of English in the school, including Indonesia. Of course this caused by the government not desire their router generations are not stupid in language, especially an international language like English. Everybody know how much important English in their future.
Almost can be told, if we do not understand English, we cannot operate some modern utilities which is program in English. Such as computer, cell phone, or when we use internet and playing many games which is its common language is English.
We are including lucky because getting education of English. Because, nowadays we cannot get wide knowledge if we do not learn English. With note, knowledge that we get is general knowledge, not life knowledge which we can earn from our life experience.
We have many advantages if we had study English. The advantages which very important is we can get the job easily. Everybody know, nowadays English be more important in our life. To get the job, a company usually majoring somebody who can English fluently. So, if we can speak English fluently, the company will easy to give a job with us.
Beside the good English, for get a job a company usually also majoring someone title, for example title of master. To become a master it is of course we have to have education in a university. To enter in a university, English have a role which important enough. English to enter in a university usually tested in the form of TOEFL to test how our English level and our brooding in have language of English. If we do not understand English, So we will very difficulty to face problems of TOEFL which very deceive us. For that, needed education of English since childhood.
Because that, emerging many schools base on bilingual in urban area. With existence of school of bilingual, student expected can speak English better. At least, daily conversation which often we use like “good morning”, “how are you”, “see you”, “good bye”, “thank you”, or asking permission. Beside that, teachers in the school base on bilingual also must be able to speak English. Because in a school which base on bilingual, the daily language are used English and Indonesian. This matter of course can fertilize to feel self confidence to speak English, both for teacher and also student. They also not be afraid to speak English although they not fluently yet.
With have a good English we also can get friends from the other countries. Because, we can communicate with foreigner. We can use an electronic media like internet. We can chatting or teleconference with foreigner. We can be someone who easy to join with all of community. We will acceptable in a new environment, although we do not much about that before.
Like we have talk about before. If we have skilled in English, so we can operate some modern utilities that use English as its program language. It mean, we not stammer in technology, that always up to date and grown on our life, in this modern life. If we can use a technology like internet, we can find all information that we need. All sector there are on the internet. So that, we can extend our knowledge from the internet. The example if we want to know much about psychology, or when us want to look for information about a university, we can get it from internet, etc. If we are eclectic, automatically we will assess as a smart person although perhaps we have insufficiency in academic. It is true our target of learn English not to be praised by people. But that is one of the so much advantage learn English. And it is true this matter often we see or even we experience of.
If we can speak English fluently, we also can be a guide or translator for the tourist who visit to Indonesia , our country. So that, we also have a secondary advantage, that is we can visit some recreation place, some beautiful place, some historic place, and other. Beside that, we do not need a translator if we visit other countries. Because as we know, English is an international language which studied as second language in every countries. So, I am sure many people can speak English although just a little.
Our ability in English not only can be used in lesson, but also we can use for refreshing. For example reading English novel. Or listen Western music which its lyric use English. We not only can listen and just say, but we also have to understand its meaning. That is usefulness of English.

Difficulty in Studying English
English is including a lesson which assuming difficult by many people. Can be told, English become something specter after mathematics. Maybe some from us have thinked “To be able in English just quiescently, for example can read or write English, just a thick and complete dictionary have enough. Although to read, writing, translating to English its tardy process, but surely will can. Because all word there in a dictionary and we remain translating it word for word”. But in reality, do not way. Because English have different structure in grammar and also in formation with Indonesian. So that, there is special order, we do not enough to translate English by only changing word for word although an expensive thick complete dictionary in our hand.
For example, in English “How Are you?”, we translate with dictionary become “Bagaimana kamu?”. Imprecise in the reality. Other example in Indonesian “Apa kabar?” we translate “What News?”. Because Apa = What, kabar or berita = news. Also imprecise, isn’t it? Other example again, in English “I put a blue book on brown table” we translate per word become “Saya letakkan sebuah biru buku atas coklat meja”, and it also imprecise in the reality. Very far differ with the real meaning, “Saya meletakkan sebuah buku biru di atas meja”.
Second difficulty is to memorize the vocabulary. Not all people have a hard memorizing. Vocabulary in English enough difficult to remembered by people. This caused by the way of reading English not same with its writing. Maybe we remember its words, but to writing down it in a sentence sometimes we forget how its writing, till enable we left one letter in writing down it.
Many people feel difficulty learn English in verb. Though a sentence of English, have to use verb. Thereby, is not bizarre if some grammarians say that verb is a keyword of a sentence. With overbearing the form, its change, meaning, and its use, of course we will easy to make a sentence. Its problem, many people made confuse by the change of verb at tenses. Every tenses have different sentence structure with followed by change of verb. The used of verb also divided in “Regular Verb” and “Irregular Verb”. Many people have difficulties in changing verb to form irregular verb which its irregular change, for example, at infinitive form (V¬1) = write, but at the past form (V2) = wrote, and at the past participle form (V3) = written. This is of course make people confuse if they do not know or memorize its change. Not like regular verb which its change only remaining to be added -d or -ed rear the verb (v-ed), for example, V1 = create, V2 and V3 = created. It is very simple.
And the next difficulty, of course in tenses. After we know some verb, other problem which important to be mastered by us is the usage of tenses. The word “tense” in English come from Latin, “tempus”, which the meaning is time. So, in there very distinct, if we talk about “tenses” of English, surely we talk about the time when an activity or an event happening. The high school students and also university students not rarely find difficulties in usage of tenses. This is properly, because tenses in English do not like in Indonesian which its time boldness never have determined the usage verb form. Unequal with English, time boldness is very determining the usage of verb. Verb can relate to present time, past, or future which its transformation we have talk at previous paragraph.
And then, many people have some difficulties to speak English with its right pronunciation. They are actually can read English, but the pronunciation is not yet precisely.

Tip :
How to Learn English Easily??
* The first step to learn English easily is say “English is easy”. Many motivator tell “You are what you say”. Why? Everybody know, brain is the center nerve of motorik which programming all activity will we do. If in brain we have program “English is easy”, so we will enjoy to learn it. But if in our brain we have program “English is a very difficult language in the world”, we surely feel encumbered to learn English.

* Often read book related to English to overcome lacking of vocabulary. Or if we do not like reading, we can exercise to make an article or make a recount text from our experience or our daily activity, then we translate it into English. So that we can add the vocabulary that common we use everyday from our daily activity. This is facilitate us for the application of English in our daily life.

* Do an English exercise frequently. It also can add our vocabulary. Beside that, we become often to translate English into Indonesian. If we already found the meaning, try to remember it word with its writing, at least one word everyday.

* Often to listen someone who speak English or listen an English song. It will be add our vocabulary and we know how to say it. Not close possibility, we also can recognize sentence structure in the song’s lyric.

* To overcome our difficulty in tenses and grammar, we have to read the books related with it frequently. If there some problems or we do not understand, ask someone who more understand about English than us.

* For difficulty in verb change, we can learn the same change verb form of many verbs. For example : ride and drive, drink and sing, etc.
•Ride -> Rode -> Ridden
•Drive -> Drove -> Driven

•Drink -> Drank -> Drunk
•Sing -> Sang -> Sung

* Doing conversation in English with friends, family or teachers. Doing conversation in English, especially with people who environment wear Indonesian, is not easy. Most resistance come from own self which feel prestige to start conversation in English with Indonesian people who speak Indonesian, or feel afraid if wrong in usage of vocabulary and structure. Though in learning, desire to always practice without feel afraid to do a mistake have to always fertilized by us. Anyway mistake can we improve, and we can learn from each mistakes that we make to make our ability of English better and perfect. Aphorism of English tell “Practice makes perfect”.

* Do not be afraid make a mistake to do something good.

* Studying English frequently and pray before study.

That is way of learning English easily. Let’s try it!
